We’re having a hard time figuring out how to send you candy through email, so instead of giving you something good to eat.  How about something good to read?  Welcome to TFW Madison’s first Transformation Tuesday. This is a story from one of TFW Madison’s first Warriors  The frequency of these articles will increase over time.  Eventually you will be able to read one of these transformations every Tuesday of the year.  The dojo needs people though to produce more transformations like these.  If you find yourself wanting to learn more about joining us and having a transformation of your own, click the link provided at the bottom of this story. TFW Madison Transformation Tuesday

Andrew was stuck. He felt there was no way he could progress, that he was limited to gyms that thought of him as a number. He worked hard for very little and was starting to settle with the idea that this was the best life had to offer.

But then, “It was as if a barbell fell from the sky,” Andrew said, “I found Waldo.” An older man came up to his hotel bar and ordered a water. He and his family sat down and Andrew asked about their shirts and why they were in town. Brian Waldo, the owner of TFW East Metro in Minnesota was in town helping TFW Madison with their grand opening. He stayed at the hotel where Andrew was a bartender. Brian told Andrew about TFW and the coaches at TFW Madison, which Andrew says was just the tip of the iceberg. He said he would check it out but a few weeks went by before he sent a message to Jonathan, asking him if I could check out the dojo on a day that it was closed. Jonathan met with him and they found they had a lot in common. Andrew was still hesitant after being disappointed with fitness facilities and programs in the past. He said to Jonathan, “I know that I have a great deal of potential, but no one has ever pushed me to find out just how much, are you going to do that for me?” Jonathan replied with a grin and said, “Only you can realize that potential, but I will teach you how.” Andrew signed up and we’ve seen him consistently every week since.

Andrew says as a former multi-sport college athlete, former personal trainer, and self-declared tough guy, he really thought he knew a lot and had a good handle on movements and form. After working the TFW system he realized he still has a lot to learn. He says the people at TFW Madison, his Familia, make you comfortable with learning, breaking yourself down and rebuilding your foundation so you can continue to progress in the right direction. Andrew used to take a variety of supplements, pre-workouts, proteins, you name it. Now, he says he doesn’t worry as much about making sure he simply eats and gets enough water. He feels the new ability to push himself rather than rely on someone else. He knows he has to do the work. After 21 days Andrew was down 9.5 pounds of FAT, 3% body fat, and he added a pound of muscle. The improvements he’s made on his health have spilled over and positively affected every aspect of his life.

Andrew says he loves the selfless support of everyone at TFW Madison, including the other students. His dreams have grown and become more clear and certain. His drive, energy, and mood are all UP. He says TFW Madison is the “perfect balance of love and “time-to-keep-moving.”

“When you find something in your life that reaches into your very being with unwavering conviction and MAKES you NEED to become a better person, you trust it. When you trust, you prevail, when you prevail, you are impossible to defeat. Jonathan, Jenny, the Dojo, Training for Warriors, gave me that. And we’ve only just started!

Everyone needs Training for Warriors. It’s one of those things that, once you have it, you know it, and you’ll never want to be without it. I will forever be thankful for everything Training for warriors, and it’s Warriors, have done for me. The best way I can think to say thank you, is to keep going, keep progressing, and NEVER give up. I hope anyone who reads this will join me. I want the world to be a better place, and this sure is a step in the right direction.
